Getting to Athens

Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" serves the city. The easiest way to your hotel is by taxi — about 30 minutes and €30–40 to Athens' southern coast, where most of the suggested hotels are.

Multiple airlines operate direct flights to Athens from all European countries; Aegean Airlines is the largest Greek carrier.

Getting Around Athens

Taxis

Athens' yellow cabs are excellent value for money. You can hail one on the street or call a radio taxi:

The quickest way is usually the Free Now or Uber app.

Metro

The Athens Metro (opened in 2000) is one of the most modern and reliable transit systems in Europe. It's a convenient way to move around the city centre — stations sit near all the major attractions.

More than 50,000 ancient artefacts discovered during construction are on display in various stations — Acropolis, Evangelismos and Monastiraki, with the most extensive collection at Syntagma.

Accommodation

Since the wedding and reception are on Athens' southern coast (Lagonissi), it will be best to stay somewhere close. We have negotiated rates with some of the best hotels in the area for our wedding weekend — to get the best available prices, please mention our wedding code "Ioanna & Juan Wedding" when booking.
